I’ve been saving up some updates, but I’m going to try to be a bit more proactive this year and get stuff up more often. Some new panoramas include a late-evening sunset, stop-action waterfall, and mountains at sunset. Now you can see why they call them the ‘Blue Ridge Mountains’. The stop-action waterfall was fun to do, I experimented a bit to capture the right feeling. You want it to appear ‘flowing’ but not so much that you can’t detect the distinct streams. I forget how long I set the shutter, but it wasn’t as long as you might think…I think about 1/2 to 3/4 of a second. Also remember you may need to set the aperture down to correct the overexposure of the image.

The desktops are all Panoramic for wide-screen monitors (you can use them on regular monitors, but they will appear ’squished’. This one is fairly recent, I’ve been waiting about a year or so to capture that photo. I think it turned out just as well as I hoped it would…fog is fun!

The day after Thanksgiving, I got up early to go around and take some photos. That’s actually the same day I saw the Chrysler Windsor, but I posted that photo first. I’ve not had a chance to just spend time just taking photos lately, so it was nice to get out. The very first photo opportunity I had was an absolutely awesome sunrise…and I caught it in a good location with a derelict house silhouetted behind.
