Bombers away!

This weekend also hosted several WWII warbirds at the Hickory airport. Beautiful weather and I got some great pics. This is one of my favorites, as I managed to capture it without any “extras” on set…this photo could have been taken in 1944. I got a bunch of great photos, just click on the photo here and you can see them all, including a B-24 Liberator and a P-51B Mustang.

I have uploaded the videos of the P-51, B-24 & B-17 taxi and takeoff to my YouTube channel…

Car Collection…

October 24th, 2010

My uncle has a nice collection of cars, including several old police cars from the 1950s. This interesting Ford is from the Gaston Rural police department. See all the photos from his collection here.

On the same day, I got some more great photos of the moon coming up behind a barn. These shots are really difficult here in NC as its hard to find a barn that sits on the horizon, without a backing of trees or other buildings, that is telephoto distance. However, this one turned out nice.

If you happen to know of such a barn (or other interesting building), feel free to contact me from the “About” page. I’ll even send you a photo if I come to take one. Maybe that’s why Dorothy wanted to go back to Kansas…no problem taking pics of barns & the moon there! 🙂

Charlotte at night…

Rather than tease you with a completely black photo, I’ll go ahead and show you a neat pano I took of the Charlotte, NC skyline at night…

Fall is here…

…and while our leaves haven’t fully changed yet, the combines are in the fields. I think this is my favorite time of year, even if it does mean winter is coming.

John let me take some pictures of him combining his field, was a perfect setup with the setting sun and his combine silhouetted in front.
