I’m getting ready to upload a bunch of new photos (yeah, behind again), but even worse, I thought some photos had been uploaded but I forgot! Some pretty good shots out of this batch, a lot of interesting angles and closeups. It was hotter than a firecracker, but didn’t get roasted too bad.

I also ended up creating a new album for Antique Tractor Pulls due to the recent interest. Please note, for those not familiar with the site, that the transportation galleries can be accessed directly through transport.castlegraphics.com.

Sorry for the HUGE delay. I got behind due to taking a few photo shoots here and there, and then had a huge backlog of photos to go through. So now you get to see some of the photos from when it was still cold! Some of you might be wishing you could have some of the chilly air from these photos cool your house down!

Also actually set up a booth at a local event to see how it would go at selling my photos. Worked out pretty decent for a first try.

…and that might make you think of flowers and birds and so on. For my friend Coty, it means it’s time to crank up her tractor and go win some trophies! The North Brook Antique Tractor Pull started up this weekend near Hickory, NC, and Coty had a brand new Massey to hit the dirt with. Here she is after another great pull!

I’ve done a lot of work over the past few weeks that may not be real apparent, but one of them was to upload a bunch of my older (scanned) film photos. You can see some of my rescanned and retouched castle photos here on Castle Graphics, and there are a bunch of 81st AGS A-10 Warthog photos in the Transportation section that I took many moons ago. It’s getting vintage now, some of these photos are over 20 years old! Hard to believe!

I also deleted the ‘front’ page to the Transportation website, it seemed somewhat of a duplication of effort since I can just announce new pics to the transportation gallery here anyway.

Well, I’ve got some more items to post, some great snow pics from a few weeks back, but I’ve been rather happily enjoying the fact that the photo below made the Post of the Day (high hit count), Post of the Week (high hit count) and then People’s Choice Award on Railpictures.net. I was on my way to Albemarle, NC today and happened across an eastbound Norfolk Southern local freight. Found a good spot to set up and got a pretty good photo, despite the inclement weather! There’s just something about a telephoto shot down a long line of tracks that looks cool. I dunno…maybe I’m just a train geek.

I got a very spectacular surprise on Saturday going through Morganton, NC. The late afternoon sun was able to break through the clouds and illuminate random mountain peaks. Here is a spectacular photo of the sun causing steam to rise from the snow on Tablerock Mountain…

Digging for Gold…

I’ve been going through a bunch of my older stuff. I’m almost ready to rescan a bunch of negatives, but I did find some halfway decent digital copies of a few older photos. With some Photoshop magic, they cleaned up nice! So you’ll see some re-done older photos in Landscapes, and a few new ones that I’ve never posted (but still from older photos). I like this barn!

Some new updates…new panos, new landscapes, abstract and more.

I like this old house. It’s not too far from where I live and it is very picturesque depending on the time of day and the light on it. This particular image I played around with a little bit, I wanted to accent the sunlight on the building so I did black and white on most of the image but let the sun bleed through where it hit the old wood. Very cool…I also like the morning shot of the combine in the fog. It was one of those shots where you go “wow, that looks cool!” and is pretty easy to take a good shot… Enjoy!

I want to give a shout out to my friends Goy and Darrell, who always critique my work and like most of it. They just picked through a bunch of my photos to find the 50 best (along with my wife and daughter), so I’ll probably tag those when I get a chance…
